IEE Adds Web-Browser Interface to its Price Checkers
IEE is pleased to announce the incorporation of a fully functionally HTML based software enhancement to its ScanVue® price checker and point-of-purchase mini-kiosk.
Version 7.x client software for ScanVue® is an embedded version of the Mozilla (Netscape) web browser running under a Linux operating system. The browser interface allows the program developer to provide ScanVue® with graphic advertising and product information in a standard HTML format. The entire V7.x client application is stored in compressed format on an internal CompactFlash card. At boot time, the compressed files are expanded into RAM memory where the client application resides and executes. An area in RAM is reserved for the browser cache to speed up response time for frequently loaded web pages. The browser supports full 16-bit color (65,536 colors) and multiple image formats including GIF, JPEG and BMP.
ScanVue® has a slim, low profile design that can be mounted flush to a wall, or to a countertop or floor stand. The ScanVue® slim line case is engineered to incorporate the appropriate human factor design elements for ergonomic operation and display viewing without the necessity of additional angled mounting platforms.
ScanVue® options include the incorporation of a thermal printer, interactive touch screen, mag stripe reader, four front-mounted push button switches or a 20-key side mounted keypad. Display options include a ¼ VGA color TFT LCD, a 4 line by 20 character vacuum fluorescent display and a blue/white graphic LCD. IEE offers three models with an MSRP under $500.
