IEE Receives Major Award for its COTS Remote Control Units
IEE announced today that it has received multiple production contracts from EDO Corporation (NYSE: EDO) totaling over 4,100 Remote Control Units (RCU) used on the CREW 2.1 system. Deliveries to support the EDO CREW 2.1 program are anticipated to be through the end of 2007.
The CREW 2.1 [Counter RCIED (Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device) Electronic Warfare] systems are vehicle mounted electronic jamming devices designed to counter radio-controlled IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices). The systems are part of the DoD’s Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO).
Steven White, Vice President and General Manager of IEE, said, "Variations of the IEE Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) Control Display Unit have been an invaluable part of military systems for over 20 years. IEE is extremely proud that this device is now a part of the EDO system which will counter one of the biggest threats facing our troops in the field."
